The New Year has arrived – which means a whole new batch of opportunities to catch your favourite fitness clothing brand at an event or competition near you!
On the 29th and 30th of January 2016 we headed to The Athlete Games Finals at the ExCel Arena in London, UK, which saw 120 CrossFit athletes compete over two days to take home their share of the €50,000 prize purse.
On to February and you can catch us at the Wild West Fitness Winter Slam – a two-day event for three-person same sex teams with a separate men’s and women’s competition – which takes place at the GL1 Leisure Centre in Gloucester, UK. Last year’s event saw 500 spectators show up to support 576 CrossFit athletes (144 teams) from across Britain compete in the Open category and the newly introduced Masters section. Both spectators and competitors were also able to take advantage of free seminars from athletes and experts throughout the weekend, too.
On the 13th of March we’ll be heading to the WISE Campus of SGS College in Bristol, UK, for the Superhuman Quattro. This team event is part of the larger Super Human Games – a fitness challenge like no other that has been designed to put fitness and endurance to the test across a range of disciplines. The event is open to anyone who thinks they have what it takes to get through all five challenges.
We’ll then be travelling to Birmingham, UK, on the 17th of April for the Battle of Britain Throwdown at the Birmingham International Futsal. The brainchild of two ex-Marine Commandos who now run and coach at CrossFit Coventry, this one-day individual athlete’s event will see the top 60 male and top 60 female athletes compete for the title. There’s also 24 Masters Male and 24 Masters Female division places that will be an epic test of strength, will and fitness.
On the 28th and 29th May we’ll be back in the county of Cornwall for the One And All Games. This fun and challenging team fitness event is designed to allow people of all fitness backgrounds to test their fitness levels and will be taking place at the Carn Brea Leisure Centre and Running Track.
In June 2016, you can catch us at Pound For Pound in Northampton, UK. Now in its third year, this two-day individual athlete event will be taking place on the 18th and 19th at Unit 22 in Northampton and that same weekend we're venturing into Europe to visit Paris, France for the French Throwdown!
Next on our road trip schedule is the annual Wild West fitness event in Malvern, UK. This weekend-long fitness competition for teams of four athletes (two male and two female) is staged every summer at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern and will this year be taking place from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July 2016.
On to August and we’ll be returning to the highly anticipated European Inferno in our hometown of Cardiff, UK. Taking place this year on August 13th and 14th at the National Indoor Athletics Centre, this two-day, same-sex pairs competition will once again be offering a unique, fun and competitive fitness challenge for people from all backgrounds and of all levels.
